I would like to ask why some people do not
understand how much they hurt others, only because they believe to know what is
right and they do not listen what other people think, wish, believe. I am not
talking about religion. I am talking about the behavior of people who believe
to know that they are always perfect, and to know what is best for others. So
that they just impose it to others, and get angry or disappointed when others
do not want to do it and suggest unlistened alternatives. It is when dialogue
does not exist and the complexity of life is misregarded. It is when people
always know what is right, black or white, and do not see all the different
tones of grey, if not the rainbow of colors which characterize life.
They force people to follow what they suggest
to do, because they know better. They hurt people making them sad, because they
have to do things they do not agree with, or because they disappoint the
expectations of the beloved ones. They make people think about themselves and
put in discussion their own beliefs, but they never think they might change.
They do not consider any other perspective than their own one, and every other
one becomes unacceptable.
Other people will at some point go their own
way, trying to explain them that they might be wrong, and eventually give up on
changing their certainties, although feeling like betraying their love for
them. But, after all, people can change only if they want to. You can not force
someone to change. You can not force someone to see also with other's eyes. You
can only try to teach him.
