Worrying

I would like to ask why sometimes people get worried before even it makes any sense. They get worried about what would happen if, but the "if" did not happen yet, nor is foreseen to happen, and, what's worse, they could not change anything in case the "if" would become true. It is just one of many occasions of our impotence in influencing many things. Therefore, it makes even less sense to just get worried: can you avoid it? do it; can you not avoid it? be prepared in the best way, but do not worry.
When people worry, they begin to kind of panic and lose any type of objectivity on the situation. It is like if someone would keep telling you "I can't swim, I can't swim, I will draw" sitting on a bench in a park along a little water hole, where nobody would ever think about taking a bath, nor the person speaking would ever think about taking one, but is getting worried about the fact that she will draw "if" she would take a bath.

There are thousands of situations like this. We just do not recognize them and do not realize we are exactly in the middle of them, most of the time, because either we are too busy panicing, or supporting people who are panicing. Kind of useless, actually.
The best thing to do would really be to ask the question "do you really think it would happen?". And, if the answer is yes, "can you prepare for it in any way better than what you are doing now?".

Sometimes is more a worrying about decisions that someone is making and that will influence our lives, but we still do not know what has been decided. So, we spend our time thinking about what would happen in all possible cases following any possible decision - to be prepared, we say to ourselves. Well, I think this is a kind of prepared panicing, but still a bit panicing if the possible decisions begin to be all what you are thinking about, and in particular, if your plans keep changing depending on your favorite possible decision of the moment. Be prepared, yes, be flexible, great, be crazy, no. Someone will communicate to you the decision made, eventually, and it will mostly be the one you would have never considered, so that you are not prepared at all - and all your thinking was just for keeping you busy...
